Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth has emerged as the lone survivor at the ongoing Japan Super Series after beating fellow countrymen Ajay Jayaram in the men's singles event here on Thursday.
The eighth-seed advanced to the quarter-finals after Jayaram retired hurt while lagging 21-16 in the second round.
Srikanth will next face Marc Zwiebler of Germany for a place in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, H.S Prannoy suffered a major setback as he knocked out of the tournament after going down 16-21, 19-21 against second-seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the one-sided clash that lasted 44 minutes.
