Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) to set up a 'MSME Centre of Excellence' in Pune.
The MoU was signed between NIBM Director Dr. Achintan Bhattacharya and Chief General Manager of SIDBI D. Ghosh in presence of Chief General Manager of SIDBI Dr. Kshatrapati Shivaji.
The main purpose of the 'Centre of Excellence' to provide strong academic leadership to the field of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)financing and identifying areas of research and
development to lead an appropriate research programme in the field of MSME financing.
The centre would also undertake efforts for innovating models and methods for MSME financing, provide knowledge dissemination based on national and international best practices in financing MSMEs and build the capacities of the banks around the said purposes.
The centre would be set up at NIBM's campus in Pune.
