Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt recently shared very similar opinions on the ongoing controversy surrounding the release of Karan Johar's upcoming film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' as Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is also a part of the project.
According to Pinkvilla, the two alleged on-off lovers were attending a recent award show where both shared very similar thoughts on the matter.
The 31-year-old actor and former model said, "As an actor and a part of the film industry, I feel it is not fair to the filmmaker" which was not so different from the 23-year-old's response to the question saying, "As a proud resident of the country and as a privileged member of the industry, I feel that whatever is happening with the film at this moment is unfair."
"If people knew how films were made-this film was shot a year back, and during the time, the political scenario was quite different," said Sidharth in the statement, adding, "I myself have worked with the said actor. That film (Kapoor and Sons) had also released this year. I feel it is not fair to a filmmaker who is making a love story. It has nothing to do with the political scenario."
Alia shared the same thoughts saying, "During the shoot of the film a year back, the climate was good. The current climate I know how it is. But during that time, the climate was good."
Sidharth signed off hoping "we have a wonderful release and people get to see the wonderful story" delivered by director Karan.
