Simon Cowell reportedly flew to New York to meet pregnant gal-pal's husband, Andrew Silverman to patch things up and settle matters between them.

The X Factor judge met the jilted husband in a private room at the tiny Francis S Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach, New York, where an emotional three-hour face-off took place, the Daily Express reported.

Sources revealed that Andrew had no idea his wife was having an affair but is more hurt over the loss of his friendship with Cowell than the breakdown of his marriage.

Another source, who spotted the two men as they shook hands and parted, said that they seemed like normal friends.

The 53-year old music mogul is eager to avoid a bitter court battle after Andrew named Cowell in divorce papers filed three weeks ago in New York accusing Lauren of 'cruel and inhuman treatment'.
