Sir David Attenborough calls rampant over population 'ticking time bomb' for humans

Filmmaker and naturalist Sir David Attenborough has claimed that human beings need to control their population numbers, while disapproving the practice of 'sending bags of flour' to famine-struck areas.

The broadcaster expressed his concern on population growth and suggested that the there is a need of discussion on this topic, Metro.co.uk reported.

The 87-year-old said that given food aid to other countries will blindly lead mankind into ultimate danger because the Earth cannot sustain so many people.

During an interview with an UK publication, he said that if humans did not act soon, the 'natural world will do something', while claiming that the famine in Ethiopia is about 'too many people for too little piece of land.'

Attenborough also spoke about child-rearing and contraception in developing nations.
