Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday claimed that the Skill India Mission launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was originally the erstwhile UPA government's 'Kaushal Vikas Yojna'.
"Kaushal Vikas Yojna is our Yojna which was known as Skill Development Scheme. They did not even issue any fund to it and they have not made any efforts in the last 14 months. Now every year, new schemes are being launched and propaganda is being done. But they don't have desire to provide help and pursue them," he told ANI.
Prime Minister Modi today formally launched the "National Skill Development Mission" and unveiled the new "National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015".
The ambitious mission is expected to be a mass campaign involving the youth to encourage them to take up skilling and vocational training to improve their employability.
