Ahead of his side's tri-series clash against South Africa, Australian skipper Steve Smith has played down a thigh injury he sustained during his side's four-wicket defeat against hosts West Indies at Warner Park in St Kitts.
Smith, who was the last man to leave the nets during a practice session at Kensington Oval, insisted that he could easily manage a minor strain throughout the ODI series.
"I understand my body a lot better these days and I can manage these little injuries, the 27-year-old was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.
Although the right-hander admitted that he might not be able to play at his absolute best, he considers himself fit enough for the upcoming game.
"It's one of those injuries where I might not be able to go at 100 per cent, but I think I'll be right for the game," he added.
Australia's top order has already been hit by an injury with opener David Warner sidelined from the series due to a broken figure.
With the setback, Smith arguably remains the key to Australia reaching next week's final.
Australia, who have won two out of four games they have played so far, will have to win their next clash against South Africa on Sunday in order to keep alive their hopes of making into the finals.
