Sonam Kapoor, known for her upfront nature, recently stated that 'not-active' Kareena Kapoor Khan wants to be on social media.

Negating the 'Ki and Ka' actress' last year's statement that she is "pretty retro" and does not like to be "on social media," the 30-year-old actress said in an interview with Anupama Chopra, "Bebo wants to be on it. I know that she does! She has got people handling stuff for her."

As Pinkvilla reported, while speaking to the film critic at the 69th Cannes International Film Festival, the 'Khoobsurat' actress added that there is always some chatter about them and hence, everything is on social media.

"Being a celebrity, does not mean that you need to be mysterious and out of reach. I need to be aspirational and inspirational," she said.

Adding to it, Sonam stated that young girls get inspired by stars who are not afraid to be themselves.

Folllowing the Kardashians, the 'Neerja' actress has got her own app that has been covering Cannes and her red carpet walk live.

"I want people to know when I walk the red carpet that it is just a young girl who loves eating chocalates and has body issues. It is human and I feel like it is important for people to know that," she said in that regard.

Sonam even added that the fact that social media is a powerful medium to start a revolution.
