Spike Lee admitted that he wished he didn't write the rape scene in his 1986 film 'She's Gotta Have It'.

During an interview with Deadline.com, the 57-year-old director said that the scene, which had caused some controversy after the movie release, was his "biggest regret", and he would gladly re-do it if given a chance.

He was immature and hates himself for not seeing rape as the evil act that it is, he added.

Moreover, Lee promised that that he wouldn't repeat the same mistake with film's TV show adaptation, which will soon air on Showtime.
