Leonard Nimoy has revealed he is suffering from a serious lung disease thirty years after he quit smoking, and has urged smokers to give up.
The 82-year-old actor, who played the Dr Spock in 'Star Trek', revealed that he has been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, which obstructs sufferers' breathing as their airways narrow, on Twitter, the Mirror reported.
He signed off his tweet with the legendary 'Live Long and Prosper' catchphrase.
Nimoy, who launched a Twitter campaign urging fans to stand up against online bullies, was recently spotted being wheeled through JFK airport using an oxygen cylinder.
