Liverpool is reportedly offering a stunning new contract to their winger Raheem Sterling as they want to tie down the teenager for the long term because of his growing reputation.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are already on red alert after Sterling's impressive form and performances for Liverpool during their run-in last season. The 19-year-old winger has also enhanced his reputation at the World Cup despite England's disappointing campaign.
Sterling's current 30,000 pounds-a-week contract still has three years left to run, but Liverpool wants to reward their winger by offering him four time his current wages, The Mirror reported.
It had been reportedly revealed in April that Liverpool want to lock Sterling down after his impressive form, which pushed him into England's World Cup squad and nearly helped Liverpool win the title.
Liverpool has also been impressed with Sterling's growing maturity off the pitch and the Premier League club is anxious to keep their brightest young star.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has also talked up Sterling this week, claiming that the teenager has taken his game to a new level. Rodgers said that Sterling is only going to get better, and he is way above the level from when he first came in.
Rodgers said that Sterling is turning into a beautiful young man, with all the responsibility, adding that the winger is still only 19, but in big games he's performed and he's a wonderful talent.
