Stop investing in childish abbreviations, start addressing nation with real answers: NCP advised PM Modi

Downplaying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent statement of saving the nation from 'SCAM', the National Congress Party (NCP) on Sunday advised the former to incorporate concrete issues instead of indulging in juvenile abbreviations.

"It doesn't befit the stature of the Prime Minister of this country to talk as he did, like an absolute child. He should be dignified enough to talk about issues and should be able to tell people why they should not vote Samajwadi party or Mayawati and go for BJP instead. That should form the text and tenor of his hour long speech," NCP Majeed Memon told ANI.

Memon accused Prime Minister Modi for never addressing the issue of Demonestisation in its entirety, and only babbling on surface level.

"He did touch the subject of demonetisation, but only outwardly, today we are completing almost 100 days of demonetisation. In your budget you have not provided anything for the poor. You have not spoken about waiving of excise duty, service tax or indirect taxes which would help every citizen, you have not provided anything to eliminate poverty or to generate jobs," he said.

Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a combined attack on the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati. The Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh will not show any progress unless it is free from corruption, which can be achieved only if the 'SCAM' is removed from power, adding that UP has the potential to be India's most prosperous state.

"The ruling Government in Uttar Pradesh is one that needs to be removed from power immediately, because they are a Government that collectively supports rogues and goons. There is no value for anybody's life in this state. One has no guarantee that he or she will return home alive after stepping out of his/her home. This state has made me what I am, and I will not rest until this government is replaced," he said.

Uttar Pradesh will be voting for a new state assembly in a seven-phase election between February 11 and March 8. Out of the 403 assembly seats, the Congress will be contesting in 105 seats and the Samajwadi Party will field its candidates in rest of the 298 seats.
