Ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn told the court during the pimping trial that he had attended only 12 orgies in three years.

According to the BBC, Strauss-Kahn said prosecutors had greatly exaggerated the frequency of his "licentious evenings".

Strauss-Kahn told the court that he "committed no crime, no offence," adding that the prosecution gave the impression of unbridled activity and that there were only 12 parties in total- four per year over three years.

He also denied claims that he organized the parties saying that he did not have the time for it.

Earlier, a former prostitute testified at the trial of Dominique Strauss-Kahn that she attended "classy" lunchtime sex parties at apartments in Lille.

The woman nicknamed Jade burst into tears several times as she told the court how she had been forced into prostitution to support her two young children after her divorce, the BBC reported.

She alleged that Rene Kojfer, a former public relations manager for the Carlton, and Dominique Alderweireld, a Belgian brothel owner known as Dodo the Pimp, had made the arrangements for her to attend lunchtime sex parties, the report said.

She recalled one of the parties that also involved Strauss-Khan and described how it was more of a "carnage with a heap of mattresses on the floor".

In another testimony, one of Strauss-Kahn's mistresses claimed that the ex-IMF chief had offered her a brand new pair of designer boots worth 900 pounds and promised to teach her sex games if she agreed to attend orgies.

According to Daily Express, the claim is a crucial part of the evidence in the pimping trial which entered its second day in Lille, northern France, yesterday.

The woman identified as Sylvie said that Strauss-Kahn lured her into becoming his regular mistress with the promise of expensive gifts and sex games instead of cash.

She alleged that Strauss-Kahn,65, also promised to take her to the Bois de Boulogne woods in Paris , blindfold her, and watch her having sex with other men, the report said.

The former IMF chief faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 1.5 million euros if proved guilty.
