Sunanda Pushkar's body cremated, AIIMS doctor calls death unnatural

Wife of Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor, Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor's body was cremated on Saturday evening.

The cremation took place around 5.30 pm at the Lodhi crematorium in south Delhi.

Commenting on her death, Dr. Adarsh of AIIMS called the death to be an unnatural one.

"It looks like an unnatural death, but let the reports come first. We have to see the report of how the body was found, and in what condition," he said.

"From the medical point of view, we can say that she might have died somewhere between 1pm to 7pm," he added.

On questioning if the death might have been a case of murder he said it was very difficult to come to a conclusion at this point of time.

"I cannot comment on the reason of the death. That is a matter of investigation. Sudhir Gupta, the chairperson, has given an official statement that we have not reached any conclusion as yet," he added.
