The External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj is scheduled to leave today for the United States to participate in the United Nations General Assembly session. She will be joining the delegation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will reach New York on 26th September.
The EAM spokesman said, "Swaraj will be attending a series of multilateral meetings including foreign ministers of G-4, SAARC, India-Brazil-South Africa, G-77and the BRICS countries."
She will also be holding bilateral meetings with her counterparts with whom she has not met before including the foreign minister of UK, Philip Hammond.
The minister will stay back to attend a UN event to mark the Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary as a day of non-violence on the 2nd October.
