Rubbishing speculations of him being upset with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over ticket distribution for the forthcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, MLA Swami Prasad Maurya on Wednesday clarified that there is no unhappiness or dissatisfaction from his side.

"It depends on the media only to show what they want, to show someone happy or angry. There is no tiff, unhappiness or any dissatisfaction from my side. I believe I will get to see positive results," Maurya told ANI.

At the same time, Maurya expressed his hope of the party seriously considering the names proposed by him for tickets.

"I have given selected names, so that I expect a serious consideration on the same is natural. It is natural that my list is going to be lengthy, keeping in mind the support base I have in Uttar Pradesh," he said.

"My effort would be to give the opportunity to those who have a support base and have chances of winning. I have had a discussion about this with the party, which it is considering now," he added.

Earlier today, the sources had claimed Maurya was unhappy over the distribution of tickets by the saffron party.

Maurya, a former former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) member, joined the BJP six months ago.

The BJP Central Election Committee meet is to take place tomorrow at 11 a.m. to finalise remaining list of candidates for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand polls.
