England bowler Graeme Swann has said that his side is not taking anything for granted against Australia in the 'return' Ashes series despite winning the summer series 3-0.
England head to Australia in November after wrapping up a 3-0 series victory over Australia at The Oval in August.
According to The Guardian, Swann insisted that the weight of a potential record-breaking achievement by his team claiming a fourth consecutive Ashes triumph would not prove a burden, adding that although the summer win may lead to complacency among fans, the team would not be taking anything for granted and would go out with the score at 0-0.
However, Swann, who starred as the leading wicket-taker with 26 in the summer series, further said he believes that England going to Australia as favourites is better than going as underdogs, although he added that his team does not play thinking about making records and history.
Admitting that he can hardly believe he is a part of a squad hoping to make history after growing up in an era of almost routine humiliation, Swann said that Australia seemed almost invincible when he was growing up, adding that as a young cricketer, he never aspired to win the Ashes.
