New Zealand cricket coach Mike Hesson has said that he is assessing his options ahead of the second Test in Bangladesh and that even the currently injured Tim Southee is someone who could be picked.
According to Stuff.co.nz, the second Test starts next Monday, in Dhaka, and although the Black Caps aren't saying as much, they'll be desperate to win the final test and take the series against the bottom-ranked test-playing nation.
The Black Caps started the series on 79 points in the ICC ranking system and in eighth place, the report said.
A 2-0 series win would have only boosted the side to 80 points, still eight behind seventh-placed Sri Lanka, the report added.
However, that's now impossible after New Zealand drew with Bangladesh on a docile Chittagong wicket in the first test that finished at the weekend, the report further said.
Hesson said that the team would not force Southee if he is not ready as he is too valuable an asset for them to push him, adding that they had other quick-bowling options.
