The homicide squad of New South Wales Police has released fresh CCTV footage with regard to the murder of Indian national Prabha Arun Kumar in Sydney's Westmead suburb.

The new footage shows a person walking through the Parramatta Golf Course towards Jubilee Lane on the night of Prabha's murder, the New South Wales Police reports.

Detective Acting Inspector Ritchie Sim said the footage was identified during a recent canvassing of the area, adding that the person is yet to be identified.

Sim further said that Prabha's death had affected not only her family in India, but also, the 'wider Australian community'.

Sim hoped that the footage will 'prompt someone's memory', even though, the evidence was not the 'best available one'.

He added that the police is closely working with Prabha's family and exploring appropriate channels to travel to India.

The investigating squad is working with the Parramatta Park Trust and the Hills Holroyd Parramatta Community Migrant Resource Centre to establish a memorial to coincide with Prabha's birthday.

The Parramatta Park Trust and the Migrant Resource Centre will be finalising the plans for a memorial service and release the details of the event in the weeks to come.

Prahba was declared dead on March 8 when she was brought to the Westmead Hospital.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad subsequently formed Strike Force Marcoala to investigate and conduct extensive inquiries into the death of the 41-year-old Bangalore techie.
