Sylvester Stallone's art show in in St. Petersburg's State Russian Museum has opened up amidst communist protest, it has been revealed.

A collection of Stallone's paintings has graced the show as per schedule, irrespective of the opposition from the local political parties, Contactmusic reported.

Leningrad's Communist Party had earlier released a statement saying that for those born and raised in the Soviet Union, "Rambo/Stallone" will always be an embodiment of Cold War and the US military machine.

The statement said that the character represents someone who kills countless Soviet soldiers and our Vietnamese comrades, a maniacal fighter against the so-called "red threat".
