The country's premier business software, Tally Solutions, has launched its latest release in the GST ready suite, Tally.ERP 9 Release 6.2 to provide a one-stop-solution for filing GSTR 2 returns.

GSTR 2 return contains details of all inward supplies of a business and based on this return the Input Tax Credit is determined.

Accuracy and completeness of data are crucial for the matching process in GSTR 2 which will ensure that businesses are able to claim the right credit at the right time.

"We are blessed with the close interactions with the GSTP community, leading to continuous improvements in our products. With Tally. ERP 9 Release 6.2, we expect that we will dramatically ease the way people can complete their GSTR-2 obligations, as well as their ongoing invoicing and compliance requirements," said Managing Director, Tally Solutions, Bharat Goenka.

"The product has been designed to save time and effort for GSTPs and bring them on the same page with their clients. Books of accounts and returns must reflect each other for complying with GST and our latest release is built on this foundation," added Goenka.

Tally. ERP 9 enables businesses to effectively fulfil their accounting and filing requirements from one software. Businesses can import and export JSON files directly from within the software, which can be uploaded to the GSTN Portal. This feature removes an additional step of routing it through the offline tool, which can be a cumbersome process.

Once the GSTR 2 return is imported, the software auto assists businesses to compare the invoice details of what is available in the books with the details available in the return and update the status of each invoice from a single screen.

The new software is designed to mimic the interface of the GSTN portal, allowing businesses to sort or filter GSTINs based on different categories like invoice-value, number of invoices, taxable values, etc.

This offering from within the software provides flexibility to businesses to match invoices as per their convenience and business operations. The software allows businesses to filter invoices that are pending due to mismatches so that the necessary corrective action can be taken.

In case of mismatches of invoices, GSTPs handling multiple accounts can print or email reports to their clients, making the reconciliation process easier.

Tally. ERP 9 Release 6.2 includes all the changes proposed by the government in the GST council meeting that was held on October 6. These changes have been adapted into the software to provide a seamless experience to the users.
