Warner Bros. have revealed that they will be releasing a live-action take on Tarzan in 3D by 2016.

Alexander Skarsgard, best known to audiences as the vampire Eric Northman in HBO's True Blood, is slated to play the title role, with The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie cast as his love interest, Deadline reported.

Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) and Samuel L. Jackson round out the cast, according to reports.

David Yates, who directed a number of the 'Harry Potter' films as well as the miniseries State of Play, will be behind the camera.
