Taylor Swift has slammed the photographer who accused her of hypocrisy following her successful Apple Music campaign.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter said Jason Sheldon had "misrepresented" her photography agreement when he branded her guilty of the very same tactic as the Apple, the Independent reported.
The 'Bad Blood' singer had said that it was shocking and disappointing that Apple had decided not to pay for songs streamed during a three-month trial period of Apple Music, adding "We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."
However, Sheldon challenged the 'Shake It Off' star's photo policy, which he said gives her free and unlimited use of our work, worldwide, in perpetuity.
A UK spokesperson for Swift responded by saying that the standard photography agreement has been misrepresented in that it clearly states that any photographer shooting The 1989 World Tour has the opportunity for further use of said photographs with management's approval.
The spokesperson added that another distinct misrepresentation is the claim that the copyright of the photographs will be with anyone other than the photographer - this agreement does not transfer copyright away from the photographer. Every artist has the right to and should protect the use of their name and likeness.
