At least one 'terrorist' has been killed and 33 other suspects apprehended in raids carried out by law enforcement agencies in Karachi late on Sunday, officials and sources said.
As per sources, a raid in Korangi area of Karachi was conducted by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel that led to an alleged encounter with 'terrorists'.
One suspected terrorist was killed in the gun battle while one of his accomplices managed to run away, reports the Dawn.
A search operation was conducted by the Police and Rangers in Shah Faisal Colony no. 6, Paposh Nagar, Mujahid Colony and adjacent areas.
Law enforcement agencies carried out the raid following a tip off of miscreants' presence in the localities.
In another search operation, a worker of a political party, Muhammad Ali alias CNG, was taken into custody during the raid by Rangers in Gulshan Iqbal 13D area.
Four suspected terrorists were arrested in Sargodha by CTD officials and were whisked to an undisclosed location for interrogation. The CTD officials seized four suicide vests and weapons from them.
The suspects were identified as Daud Khan, Mumtaz Khan, Dilawar Khan and Abdul Karim.
