Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a positive response for his 'Make in India' and India's 'Act East' policies from his Thai counterpart Prayut Chan-o-cha here on Wednesday.
"I fully agree and admire the concept of @makeinindia_ it can drive the economy. Thailand can apply it for its economy too," the PMO's Twitter handle quoted the Thailand Prime Minister, as saying.
"India's 'Act East' approach is important for the ASEAN; We support your 'Make in India ' policy," MEA official spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin Twitter handle quoted the Thai PM as telling Prime Minister Modi.
Prime Minister Modi, who met his Thai counterpart on the sidelines of the 12th ASEAN-India Summit here on Wednesday, also extended an invitation to the latter to visit New Delhi.
"India is looking forward to welcoming you. There are several possibilities of cooperation in economic sphere," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated Chan-o-cha on becoming the Premier of Thailand and hoped that the relations between the two countries would become stronger from now on.
Prime Minister Modi also extended his best wishes to Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej and shared that Thailand will organise a Sanskrit Conference which will be attended by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
"Thailand is organising a Sanskrit Conference. Our External Affairs Minister will be visiting the conference," Prime Minister Modi told the Thailand Premier.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi also met Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and pitched for his 'Make in India' goal by inviting Malaysian companies to come to India.
