Commenting on the removal of Shashi Tharoor as the Congress party spokesperson, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sambit Patra on Tuesday said that the incident showed that all was not well within the Congress Party.

"This incident shows all is not well within Congress, there's a great deal of confusion. I would like to take this opportunity to remind the Congress that Prime Minister Modi's initiatives are aimed towards the nation as a whole. All the good work he is doing is for the nation. So, to have a narrow vision and to see everything with a political view is not good for the nation. The Congress should learn this," said Patra.

Yesterday, the Congress Party relieved Shashi Tharoor from his duties as the party spokesperson.

The decision was taken after the Congress' Kerala unit complained against Tharoor's conduct and behaviour to the party high command.

Earlier this month, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had taken disciplinary action against Tharoor, accusing him of praising Prime Minister Modi's policies.

The KPCC had also spoken out against Tharoor after he had accepted the Prime Minister's invitation to join the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'.

Prime Minister Modi, who launched the Swachh Bharat campaign on October 2, had invited Tharoor to join the drive to clean India.

Tharoor had accepted the Prime Minister's invitation, saying that he was honoured to accept the invitation to join the campaign.
