Skye McCole Bartusiak, the actress who portrayed to be Mel Gibson's daughter in the 2000 film 'The Patriot', was found dead at her home in Houston, Texas. She was 21.
The young star's mother, Helen McCole Bartusiak, told CNN that though the exact cause of her death had not yet been determined, she thinks it was due to the epileptic seizures she had been suffering lately.
The paramedics tried to revive her 45 minutes but could not get a heartbeat, she added.
Bartusiak, who had started off as a child star in 1999's 'The Cider House Rules', had also played Michael Douglas' daughter in 2001's 'Don't Say a Word', and as per her mother, had been working on producing and directing her first movie.
