Accusing European Union politicians and officials of trying to influence the outcome of United Kingdom's general election, British Prime Minister Theresa May stated that she would not allow bureaucrats to walk over her government.
In an aggressive speech outside Downing Street, May tore into EU officials and said that Britain would not allow the "bureaucrats of Brussels run over us" and urged voters to "give me your backing to fight for Britain."
Accusing EU officials of deliberately leaking misleading accounts of Brexit talks so as to adversely impact the outcome of UK election, May launched a stinging attack on Brussels after a German newspaper had reported about the difference between her and European commission president Jean-Claude during a Downing Street dinner last week.
She further added "We continue to believe that no deal for Britain is better than a bad deal. But we want a deal."
After meeting the Queen at Buckingham Palace, May stated "In the last few days, we have seen just how tough these talks were likely to be. Britain's negotiating position in Europe has been misrepresented in the continental press, the European Commission's negotiating stance has hardened."
"Threats against Britain have been issued by European politicians and officials and all these acts have been deliberately timed to affect the result of the general election which will take place on 8June,"reports Guardian.
But Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Prime Minister of "playing party games with Brexit in the hope of winning advantage for the Tories."
Theresa May has surprised the political establishment by calling a snap general election last month, saying she needs a stronger mandate for taking Britain out of the European Union bloc.
British Prime Minister has been busy urging voters to vote for her team to ensure Brexit success.
