Thousands of Muslims belonging to Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath (TNTJ) formed a human chain to vent their protest against militancy in Coimbatore.
The anti-militancy campaign was held to convey firmly that the Muslim community as a whole condemns terrorism in any form.
State Secretary of TNTJ Abdul Rehman, said that they would never support militancy and killing of humans.
"Through this human chain campaign, we raised our voice against such organisations as Al-Queda, Indian Mujahideen or any other Muslim organisation which incites terrorism in the country. We cannot accept their way of thinking and will work to drive it out," said Rehman.
Demonstrators including men, women and children held placard reading 'Islam never supports terrorism' as they walked on the streets to demonstrate their views on militancy.
