Three people have been killed in Bangladesh in separate "gunfights" with the elite Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Rangpur and the country's capital Dhaka.

According to the Daily Star, Rangpur victims were identified as Manik, 25, and his brother Sumon, 26. Both the victims are accused in several murder, extortion and mugging cases.

Major Maksudul Alam, deputy director for Rab's legal and media wing, said that the alleged shootout in Dhaka took place in Taltola around 2 a.m.
