World number one Tiger Woods has said that time is still on his side in his bid to surpass golf legend Jack Nicklaus record of 18 Major titles.

The American's last major triumph was in 2008 when he won the US Open despite the pain barrier of a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a double stress fracture of his tibia, and other injuries, although 2013 has been kinder physically, enabling the Woods of old to re-emerge more regularly.

According to CNN, Woods said that a lot of golfers peak when they reach their 30s as they then start eliminating their mistakes with an improved strategic awareness, adding that the golfers then understand how to attack the golf course, which is evident in the prowess of players like Ben Hogan, who won most of his majors in his (Woods') age.

Stating that Nicklaus also won his Majors when he was 46 years of age, Woods further said that there would some years in a golfer's career when he is at the top of his form, and there would be other years when he does not win anything at all.

Woods also said that enlisting the help of swing coach Sean Foley in 2011 has also paid dividends by creating more consistency in his game.
