A cannon dating to the Tipu Sultan-era has been unearthed in Bengaluru at a construction site.
As per reports, a building was being constructed near the Bangalore Medical College in the Kalasipalyam area of the city when the artillery equipment was found.
Experts who have examined the cannon are of the opinion that it was used by Tipu Sultan in the Anglo-Mysore war in the 1790s. They plan to study it further.
The discovery of this cannon follows the unearthing of two more cannons in 2012 near the K R Market area of the city.
