Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hanks, who will be next seen in Steven Spielberg's upcoming movie 'The Post', has described veteran director Steven Spielberg as a "guerrilla filmmaker".

While appearing on the 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', the Oscar-winning actor revealed that he likes the spontaneous way Spielberg works in.

Tom said, "He just wants to figure it out as he goes along. He's almost like a guerrilla filmmaker. He has the set, he has the space and he wants to fill it with something he hasn't imagined before. I don't mean to say that he's not prepared -- he's the most prepared man in the world."

But the 61-year-old actor's co-star Meryl Streep, who portrays Kay Graham in the movie, was "mad" he didn't warn her about Spielberg's directing method.

"Meryl was mad at me because I didn't tell her Steven doesn't rehearse," noted Hanks.

'The Post' brings the powerful trio of Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep for the first time on celluloid - also marking the 11th collaboration of Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

The film revolves around a story of dedicated journalists - a publisher, her editor and a newsroom striving to join the ranks of the best in the country - taking a stand for the truth, justice and the American public's right to be informed.

The movie features an ensemble star cast like Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford and Zach Woods.

The film is all set for its theatrical release in India on January 12, 2018.
