Top Pak army general resigns after being superseded for COAS post
Pakistan's senior-most general Lt General Haroon Aslam has given in his resignation after being superseded by General Raheel Sharif as Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
According to the sources, Lt General Aslam sent the resignation letter to the Defence Ministry from General Headquarters (GHQ), the Daily Times reports.
The move came after a notification was sent by the Defence Ministry to the Pakistani Army regarding the appointments of General Sharif as COAS and General Rashad Mahmood as Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) was issued by the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
