Spanish striker Fernando Torres fired a brace to score his first goals for Atletico Madrid since returning to the club to help his side knock out holders Real Madrid 4-2 on aggregate and set up a quarterfinal clash with Barcelona in the Copa del Ray.

Atletico led 2-0 from the first leg and Torres stunned the Bernabeu, smashing in left-footed just after 49 seconds in the game.

Real levelled through Sergio Ramos's header levelled but, in the first minute of the second half, Torres again repeated his feat to beat Pepe and slide in a second, the BBC reported.

Real needed three goals to win after Cristiano Ronaldo's header in the 54th minute but Atletico would now meet Barca, who cruised to a 9-0 aggregate win over Elche, in the last eight.

This was the current La Liga leaders' first domestic cup defeat for boss Carlo Ancelotti since he arrived to manage their city rivals in 2013, the report added.
