The United States and Israel are expected to discuss the next steps in bilateral cooperation as well as review policy initiatives in the Middle East when President Donald Trump hosts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Wednesday.
According to media reports, this first meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu after the former's inauguration on January 20 this year, is a significant from the point of view of making an attempt to sort out differences that have cropped up in the relationship between the two countries of late.
Media reports said that the ongoing war in Syria, Iran's nuclearisation moves and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could be some of the issues discussed by the two leaders.
Both Trump and Netanyahu have known each other since the 1980s, and media here is speculating that the body language of both could determine how discussions and outcomes progress today and for the future.
