Turkish security forces have arrested four suspects, including a foreign national for their alleged links to the TKP/Kivilcim terror group.
Attributing to security sources, Anadolu News Agency reported that earlier, Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had issued arrest warrants for eight suspects accused of having links with the group. Subsequently, the arrests were made. Sources added that one of the suspects held is of Austrian origin.
Turkish security forces have been involved in a massive counter-terrorism operation to crack down on suspects having alleged links with terror groups, including the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Hundreds of people have been arrested in the operation that has been going on for the past few months.
The PKK has been listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
