In a bid to lure logged-out users, Twitter has unveiled a new homepage that will feature a curated collection of timelines designed to show off popular parts of the micro-blogging platform.

Until yesterday, Twitter's homepage used to be a dead-end for internet surfers who did not have an account on the platform. However, from now on, they will see choices including, pop artists, cute animals, space news, business news, actors and actresses and will get a real-time feed of tweets from accounts after clicking on one of the available options, reported The Verge.

For instance, after clicking on "pop artists," you will see tweets from Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry, and Shawn Mendes. Similarly, if you select "TV shows and stars," you will see a collection of Tweets from The Good Wife, Modern Family, and Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

The change will allow you to check out real time news and conversations even if you do not plan on creating an account. Also, it will help Twitter in two ways: firstly, it will allow the platform to show you ads and secondly, if you keep coming back, it can get you to sign up for an account.

The move is aimed at converting the 200 million people, who visit profile pages each month without signing in, into active users.

The new homepage however, will only be available to internet users in the United States for now. It's not clear when the new feature will be rolled out broadly.
