Days after the Christmas market attack in Berlin that claimed 12 lives, two people have been arrested on suspicion of plotting another terror attack at Germany's largest shopping mall.
Two brothers from Kosovo have been arrested by German Police on suspicion of plotting to attack the country's largest shopping mall in Oberhausen, near the Dutch border, reports the Telegraph.
The men, aged 28 and 31, were arrested in Duisburg with Germany on high alert following the earlier attack.
"Friday morning (23 December, around 00:45 hours) special units in Duisburg took two suspicious men into custody," the Essen police said in a statement.
"The 28-year old and 31-year-old brothers born in Kosovo are suspected of having prepared a possible attack on the CentrO in Oberhausen," the statement added.
It is believed they were planning to attack the CentrO shopping mall where security has been stepped up along with a Christmas market next door.
Officers in plain clothes and uniform have been deployed to protect shoppers at the mall which has more than 250 stores.
