The Mumbai Police on Monday arrested two people in connection with the murder case of 72-year-old RTI activist Bhupendra Vira.
Vira was shot dead at his residence in Kalina, Santa Cruz East, late on Saturday while he was watching television. The shooter is suspected to have used a silencer as Vira's wife, who was reportedly in the house, didn't hear anything.
Vira had led a campaign against land grabbing and illegal constructions in his colony. The RTI activist was attached to the 'Voice of Kalina', a citizen's group. He has three children, a daughter and two sons. One of the sons had allegedly been stabbed four years ago.
