The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on December 30th arrested two foreigners in connection with smuggling of cocaine-filled capsule at Delhi's Indira Gandhi international(IGI) airport, as they planned to circulate the drugs during New Year celebrations.

Following a lead, the NCB had put all its force into alert before the eve of New Year when drugs are widely used in rave parties.

Delhi Zonal Unit of Narcotics Control Bureau had put its all focus on the foreigners coming to Delhi through IGI Airport to supply drugs in Delhi NCR.

Joseane Da Silva a 38-year old Brazilian woman was first arrested who was trying to smuggle in cocaine wrapped in plastic and shaped like capsules in her stomach.

Following her arrest, she was admitted to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, where the doctors removed 65 pellets of cocaine from her stomach. But an X-ray report suggest that another surgery is needed as two more pellets are inside.

Also, a 50-year-old Afghani nationalist named Mohammad Qasem was caught at the same airport, who was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, where the doctors took out 90 pellets from his stomach.

Reports say the man was supposed to deliver the consignment at Malviya Nagar in Delhi.

In both the cases, the seized narcotics consignment is said to be worth crores of rupees.

All persons involved in the racket are being identified and action is being planned accordingly.

According to reports, the swallow method is not easy to detect as there are no mechanism to identify any concealment inside body. Only after applying profiling techniques, the suspects were identified.
