Uttar Pradesh police today seized a huge quantity of 'ammonium nitrate' from a place called 'Dafi' in the city.
Around 145 kg of the contraband Ammonium nitrate stashed in three gunny bags which could be used as explosives was recovered from a Maruti 800 car of blue colour.
The driver of the car reportedly ran away from the spot leaving behind the entire consignment containing contraband item after seeing police presence. The police has meanwhile seized the said car which contained the explosive items.
A police officer has reportedly said off the record that the entire consignment of ammonium nitrate was heading
towards a place called Nadesar in Varanasi.
