United States intelligence communities had requested the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant (ISIL) in an email to keep up with the updates on Youtube, Twitter and Instagram, said sources.

A U.S. intelligence official said that the videos and pictures provided key notes in evaluating the condition in Syria and Iraq.

A senior fellow at Foreign Policy Research Institute said that the ISIL was busy gaining popularity through online videos and compared them to the singer, Justin Bieber.

He also said that the videos were easily accessible and could be watched at any time, reports the Washington Times.
