Uber rape accused convicted

A Delhi court has declared Uber rape cab case accused Shiv Kumar Yadav guilty. The arguments for quantum of punishment will be heard on October 23, the court said.

The Delhi Tis Hazari court pronounced the verdict this morning.

Last month, the victim had challenged a Delhi High Court ruling against the recall of witnesses in the case.

The Delhi Police has sought the dismissal of the High Court order on grounds that it would further cause harassment to the victim.

Taxi driver Shiv Kumar, was facing a trial on charges of raping a 25-year-old woman in an Uber cab.
