The Assam Police on Saturday arrested a person in connection with the recovery of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from Khonamukh area of Guwahati yesterday night.
According to reports, the arrested individual has links with the banned militant outfit ULFA.
Meanwhile, the security around Kamakhya temple has been beefed up following the incident.
The security has also been beefed up in several parts of the city as thousands of devotees are expected to gather for Ambubachi mela, which will begin from Monday.
