Australian spin legend Shane Warne has slammed his country's media as 'childish' over their handling of English fast bowler Stuart Broad at the first Ashes Test in Brisbane.

Broad is public enemy No.1 at the Gabba after his refusal to walk in England's first Test win at Trent Bridge in July and he is not being acknowledged by an Australian newspaper in a bid to get under the lanky speedster's skin.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, however, Broad has taken the paper's stance with good humour, although Warne has not been so forgiving, saying that the 'ridiculous stuff' with the papers is 'just childish'.

Warne further said that the Australian media has been the worst print media in the world for a long time, adding that the 'horrific' coverage may inspire England to a fourth straight Ashes series win.
