The lawyer of New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has slammed the International Cricket Council (ICC) as 'incompetent' and claimed that his client is unhappy at ICC's 'inaction' despite his match-fixing confessions.

British reports claimed that McCullum revealed he was offered 107,000 pounds to 'under-perform' in international as well as Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in 2008 and he also alleged that 'a star cricketer was involved'.

However, The Nation reports that McCullum's lawyer Garth Galloway said that the ICC has been 'incompetent' over this issue as they have gone 'completely silent' in relation to how this leak to the press has occurred, adding that the ICC needs to conclude their investigation as soon as possible if they have not done already.

While New Zealand Cricket (NZC) released a statement saying that McCullum is not guilty of corruption, the player himself has reportedly told ICC officials that 'the big boys of cricket are doing it', the report added.
