The Union Cabinet has requested President Pranab Mukherjee to revoke President's rule in Jharkhand.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari gave this information to the media here.
JMM legislature party leader Hemant Soren earlier on Tuesday met Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed, and claimed to have the support of 43-MLA"s in the 82-member assembly.
The JMM and the Congress Party has reached an understanding to form the government in Jharkhand. The decision in this regard was taken after JMM leadership held discussions with Congress top brass in New Delhi.
The latest development in this regard came just days before the six-month period of President's rule ends in Jharkhand, which was carved out of Bihar on November 15, 2000.
The President's rule was imposed in Jharkhand on January 18 after the JMM pulled out from the BJP-led government.
