Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan on Wednesday said the state administration will take stern action those who commit violence against women.
On the recent spate of rapes against women taking place in the state, Ranjan said, "I have already said
that the state administration will take stern against those who commit heinous crimes against women. There is no tolerance from our side on any violence against women."
He also said that the state would be fixing responsibilty regarding officers."We are also fixing accountability regarding the officers," Ranjan said.
When asked for his comment on news about another woman who had been found hanging from a tree after being allegedly gangraped in the Bahraich District of Uttar Pradesh, he said: "There will be immediate action. It is not about assurance, there will be action. Absolutely.
