The Uttar Pradesh government postponed Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test (UPCPMT) exam that was to be held today after the paper was allegedly leaked in Ghaziabad.

UPCPMT exam controller Dr. AK Singh said that they had to postpone the date of the exam to July 20 after a suspected leak took place in Ghaziabad.

He said, "If the suspected leak had indeed taken place then they couldn't really hold the exam as it was a prestigious exam."

Singh added, "The decision has been taken keeping in mind the benefits and fairness for the students."

One of the students, Kajol, vented her frustration, saying, "I came from Delhi and it took me about 2 hours to reach to the exam centre in the searing heat but suddenly it was announced that the exam had been postponed and the students would have to go back."

More than one lakh students were to appear for the exam to gain admission to various medical colleges of the state.
